Grumman's Air Catalina G-21 A Amphibian Model Air Plane harkens to Catalina Island's glamorous past as a vacation spot for Los Angeles visitors. Visitors took this amphibian plane from Los Angeles to Catalina Island. This was a very popular vacation get-away in the 1940s and 1950s. Today visitors take a ferry to reach Catalina Island. The model airplane is wood and hand painted. Plane sits on wood base. Wonderful piece of west coast history. Age appropriate wear with some paint chipped.
