We are showcasing people who buy Midcentury at our store. Clients have good-naturedly consented to pose. We will periodically post photographs of buyers with their "stuff" either in the store or in their homes. You'll see folks from Richmond-- The Fan, Oregon Hill, West End, Far West End, across the river, North Side, Henrico, Goochland, Hanover, Petersburg, and north to Fairfax and down Williamsburg and Norfolk way. Our faithful keep coming back to Metro Modern to talk, to look, to make comparisons with other sources and eventually to select a keeper for a special place in their home. Half the fun is knowing who gets what, where it's going and and why. We genuinely appreciate having repeat customers and we are happy to meet new ones. We thank you. All of YOU create our success.

Jennifer Schooley

The Jens Risom Console Table will be placed in Jennifer Schooley's law office, Schooley Lawfirm, PLC by Short Pump. Her public space acts as a reception area and also as a functional working area which makes the Risom piece versatile-- it flips open as a dining or conference table but can also be folded and used as a console or writing area.

Mim Scalin

Ernest Hemingway made the small, portable typewriter famous. The lightest, smallest and cutest portable typewriter was the Hermes Baby Jubilee made in the 1940s. Mim Scalin loves the size and weight of the Baby because she can easily carry it with her to take to a class. The typewriter also does not take up much desk space-- "not any bigger than an IPad"-- in her Fan home.

John Gibson
John Gibson loves good design and he found himself drawn to the Hans Wegner CH 35 Chair because of the curved cow backrest, the slender cigar legs and Hans Wegner's dedication to every small detail in each chair design. John will obviously keep the Wegner chair where he can see it in his Museum District home.
Tom Stallings
While looking for a gift for his wife Tracy, Tom Stallings found this Tony Paul style Bar to be just the right piece to showcase a gift of a vintage cocktail shaker. He thought the bar would be great to use in their West Avenue patio in The Fan.
